NOTD: Sephora "Moody Woman"

I did a little haul of Sephora goodies in Copenhagen and couldn't wait to try this one :) I had looked at swatches online and decided I wanted to try it over black to make it last longer (it's a tiny 5ml bottle). This is 1 coat of Rimmel "Black Cab" and 1 coat of "Moody Woman" topped off with Megashine. It doesn't look this flat in real life - it shimmers with all the colours of a tropical sea :D I *love* this polish, I wish I could get another bottle now!!

I unfortunately didn't see any Sephora by OPI in the shop but maybe they only sell them in the US stores?

I can't wait to try the shower cream pods :)

Holiday NOTD: Isadora "Rosette"

I'm enjoying my honeymoon so i haven't posted much :) today we went on the beach and got a bit sunburned so I'm grateful i packed my Pixi Correct & Protect tinted moisturiser - it never fails to calm a "summer" face ;) I bought this polish while we were in Sweden and today was the first i had some time to just chill (literally,  with this sunburn) and spend some time on my nails.

This is 2 coats with top coat. Unfortunately the secret shimmer you see in the bottle doesn't translate into the nails but it's still a lovely pink for summer hands :)

LOW-DOWN: New Garnier Moisture Match Moisturisers

I got myself some samples of the new Garnier Moisture Match moisturisers to try on my weather-worn face. I am not normally a fan of 'drugstore moisturisers' and these didn't really wow me either... Hey-ho! Here's the details:

Protect & Glow - (yellow) Normal Skin: For enhancing your 'glow', oil-free with SPF20. Surprisingly I liked this the best. Not shimmery or anything, just a nice texture that hydrated well. It did have a bit of an iffy smell though.

Start Afresh - (blue) Normal to Dry Skin: This had a thickish texture and felt a quite waxy on the skin despite claiming to be lightweight?.. I again didn't like the smell of this, and it gave me a spot!

Goodbye Dry - (pink) Dry to Very Dry Skin: Very thick, like a balm. Sat on top of the skin and was hard to rub in. Smell off-putting and just couldn't even finish this sachet I hated it so much...

I think these would possibly be OK if you are young and don't need a lot of help to look fresh and whatnot, but I didn't feel any love for these (being an old hag). Goes to show how useful tester sachets are to avoid wasting money and ruining your skin's condition!

REVIEW: L'Oreal Preference Mousse Absolue "900 Light Natural Blonde"

I decided I wanted to go a bit more blonde this time. I also decided I wanted to try this so-called reusable hair colour. Not sure why as I would have to use a can a time anyway as my hair is very long... Nevermind, I am a sucker for advertising I guess. It goes in dry hair which I like; I don't like the ones that go onto wet hair. It is easy to prepare, just put on the special mousse cap then shake and away you go, no mixing. It comes out looking like shaving cream... Hmmm... Not the easiest to get into the roots I felt and hard to determine if it has gone on evenly? It felt 'dry' to apply on the hair and was hard to work into the hair I felt, a dark colour will likely be hard to get even?... The smell is very strong and I did feel a bit wheezy with my asthma and I had to open the bathroom window wide. The colour result is nice and shiny but hair feels quite dry. The conditioner is nice, I think it's the usual one for the Recital Preference range, but highly fragranced. All I could smell all day today was the hair colourant... Not that sexy. I can't comment on the staying power in the can and reusability of this product as I used up the whole can as predicted! Also quite pricey with the £10.99 price tag compared to the usual £6 or so for more traditional colourants. Not a disappointing colour result but I probably won't repurchase as I much prefer my usual cream colourant L'Oreal Excellence Creme (but I will go for a lighter blonde next time rather than my usual 7.31 Dark Caramel Blonde).

NOTD: L'Oreal Color Riche "Wasabi Hint" with Confetti top coat

I am preparing to go on my honeymoon and needed a nice summery manicure after finished cramming all my vacay stuff in my new Vango70 litre rucksack :) I saw this green from the L'Oreal Color Riche range's summer collection and decided I needed it! I then thought I might fancy putting the Confetti top coat over it?... And I love it - very fun and summery! This is 2 coats of "Wasabi Hint" and a scattering of the Confetti top coat completed with a slick of MegaShine top coat. I tried cleaning up the rogue confetti flakes but it was stuck down something rotten. I will need to pick it off after my shower tomorrow!

I think these polishes look like that epoxy concrete floor paint I used to see in people's garages in the 80s :)

NOTD: Maybelline ColorShow Polka Dots "Rain Forest Canopy"

So I was perusing the local Boots looking for travel minis when on a whim I went to the makeup shelves (as one does). My eyes caught with the new polka dots top coats from Maybelline. I thought these weren't coming til June, but SURPRISE! I would have bought the pink one called "Speckled Pink" too but they only had this one and the black and white one, and since I have the L'Oreal Confetti top coat already I thought I'd pass on that one for now. I also bought the new Witch Anti-Blemish Beauty Balm, which I will review for you as soon as I've had it on for more than a week! Anyway back to the polish...

This is just 2 coats; I couldn't be bothered doing 3 coats as the polish was pissing me off being so 'flaky' and unwieldy. It was runny as hell but with big bits of hex glitter. Grrr. Gonna need a bit of picking off after my shower tomorrow... I tried tidying it up with acetone and a cotton bud but to no avail. But the colour is really nice and I just loooove these confetti type polishes, and at £2.99 I will forgive a lot. I will have to be more patient when I put it on next time...
