I have discovered a little gem of a treatment. Creative Nail Design's SolarOil has been one of my favourite treatments for dry cuticles and nails, and they have now made it into a balm. It comes in a very dinky 9 gram golden pot which will fit into the smallest handbag. SolarBalm can be used for the lips and other dry bits of skin as well as the nails so it's a bit of a miracle product. I found it conditioned my rough cuticles very nicely and leaves nails shiny and fresh-looking. It will however leave greasy marks on your clothes and paper should you go overboard on the application.. It sinks into the skin within about 10 minutes so plenty of time to push back cuticles. I will give it 4 out of 5 stars, as it is very pricey for such a small tin (it retails for £10 RRP for 9 gram of product!!).

Forever youthful?
Nothing much has been happening lately on the beauty front as I have been too busy preparing for my driving test, rather than my usual reading of magazines, blogs and websites. I have however bought myself a pot of the famous Olay Regenerist Daily 3 point treatment cream. In a vain attempt to halt time, I decided spending £29.99 on an anti-wrinkle cream was a good idea. I opened the box to realise it came with its own booklet, describing a massage routine to be used in conjunction with the cream. As a trained beauty therapist I'm always dubious about these things as they can be too hard on the skin. But it seemed straightforward enough so I started putting it on as instructed. It has a very gentle fragrance. It is slightly richer than I would normally use so I feared for my temperamental combination skin. But it's.. nice. there is not other review I can give it before I have used it for 4 weeks and can see some results. Although I am dubious about the anti-wrinkle claims, it makes me feel better that I am actually doing something, and not just sitting by while my face wrinkles. And it hasn't made my skin flare up so thats always something. I will return with results once the jar is empty! :)

More self-tan and nail polish joy!
I have been really ill recently with laryngitis, so I have been camping on the sofa with honey and tea and fashion mags and laptop. I have done some serious nail polish research on the internet. As I returned to work today, I was greeted by some of last weeks eBay purchases, one of them being China Glaze "Ruby Pumps". WOW!! I was so excited, I whipped off OPI's "A-rose at dawn, broke by noon" which I love, and put this on. I was amazed how glittery it is, in a good way. Deep red rubies.. 8-) I saw the post recently on All Lacquered Up about China Glaze's new green glitter polish "Emerald Sparkle" for the holidays. Its described as Ruby Pumps, but in emerald green. It's going to be a very merry Xmas for meeeeee!!! :)
In other exciting happenings, my love affair with Xen-Tan continues. Since I discovered the application mitt Velvotan, things have become a lot more convenient and golden :)

OPI "A-rose by dawn, broke by noon"
I saw this in Sweden on my holiday - it was mesmerizing!! I got it on eBay when I returned to the UK :) It is amazing, a bright Barbie-pink shimmer (almost metallic). This polish is part of the Classics collection.
Another little confession, I am quite obsessed with nail polish. In case you hadn't noticed already. I suffer from nail polish Attention Deficit Disorder however, I can never wear the same colour more than a couple of days :) I am currently trying to organise all my nail polishes, but I have already finished a wee mini-project, a layering expeiment with some of my polishes:

Glamour Gadget!
Wow, I'm sure these have been around for ages (I remember hearing about them a while ago...) but I've just discovered handbag hooks!! These are portable little metal hooks that lets you hang that expensive designer or vintage bag safely under the table when you're out and about! :) 5 stars, I think this is a brilliant invention!! I bought mine on ebay and will also use it to hang my bag under my desk at work :)

Who knew cuticles tan??
After discovering a bright bubblegum pink nail polish from Barry M in my nail polish stash, I set about painting my nails. After it was finished I was astonished to see how tanned my hands really were - the Barbie pink is really striking and has become my new fave colour! :) I am now eagerly awaiting some rare OPI polishes from my fave seller on eBay, hoping it will be as bright and cheerful as this pink!
