NOTD: NYC "Chelsea"

Autumn is definitely here and I am feeling the reds and oranges in the chilly air! This is another of the new New York Color nail polishes. It is a lovely red shimmer, almost like a creme on the nail, but just shimmery enough to give a real depth to the colour! This is 2 coats with Sally Hansen MegaShine top coat over Sally Hansen Diamond Strength base coat.

This polish sadly suffers from 3 Free Syndrome, it is fairly runny and hard to get right on the first coat. Second coat is nice and neat, but if my nails were longer I would have put on a 3rd coat, as I think you'd getVisible Nail Line...

I am still struggling to get a good spot and good light to work with in my new house, so please excuse my crappy pictures at the moment!

NOTD: Frankenpolish "Thundercloud"

Meet some serious chipping and my newest frankenpolish, "Thundercloud". I was actually going for a bit more of a purple finish but was a bit frisky with the charcoal creme... :) Oh well! I still like it. It's Barielle "Grape Escape" with barry M "Gray" and 17 "Smokesignal". It's coming off soon due to the DIY damage, and I broke into my stash (taped up into a cardboard box for the house move for a month now!) so expect to see some excitement tomorrow :)

NOTD: GOSH "Silver"

I am still working my way through my GOSH parcel, and here is one I wasn't sure about. But it's awesome!! "Silver" looks like sparkly Minx Silver Lightning! It's intensely shimmery and opaque. This is one coat over Sally Hansen Diamond Strength 2-in-1 with no top coat as I felt it would probably spoil the metallic finish. I couldn't take my eye off my sparkly fingertips today! It still looks OK after some DIY!

NOTD: Bloom "Nicole"

So my GOSH manicure lasted all week, almost! By Thursday it was decidedly derelict and was replaced by Bloom "Nicole", a semi-sheer nude. Not the best on my *very* yellow nail tips but hey. I noticed that the GOSH Fix Base Coat had turned very rubbery on my tips, it was a pain to remove! But I guess it made the manicure last for almost 5 days, a record for me!

"Nicole" is a lovely nude, with the tiniest of hint of shimmer to it. If my tips weren't so stained it would probably make it into the Top 20 Nail Polish list however it doesn't cover the staining totally. It seems semi-sheer, this is 2 coats; it would make a lovely French manicure. I used Sally Hansen Diamond 2-in-1 as base coat and Sally Hansen Mega Shine top coat.

My bottle had broken in transit but as usual, the bottle kind of heals itself when the polish harden in the cracks so it's still useable. I will decant it into a new bottle once my stash is out of it's moving box, hopefully by next week!

REVIEW: L'Oreal Roll-On True Match "Rose Vanilla"

I saw the advert in a magazine and I thought - "what the.." I was sceptical, but when Superdrug had a decent offer on, I decided I needed to try it! If you are apprehensive about the roll-on part - don't be! It is lovely and soft to use, and does literally glide over your face. I'm doing a lot of painting in the house just now with paint rollers, so maybe that's why I get on so well with this foundation! So lets break this thing down..

Application ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Once you start using it you will be able to apply it in less than a minute to your entire face. Just make sure you don't overload the roller, and roll over any tidelines to blend away. It also works for angles like around your nose and mouth, just tilt the roller to fit the angles!

Colours ♥ ♥

Even with a very "average" skin tone and colour, I found it hard to get the right shade. I chose "Rose Vanilla", a cool rosy ivory, I will not be able to use this if I get even slightly tanned.

Packaging ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Slimline case with the roller neatly inside. The back can double up as a mirror if you're short of mirrors!

Formula ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Smooth to apply, medium coverage. Looks satiny on and lasts all day, but can rub off on clothe/mobile phone so be careful!

Overall, I am very pleased! I will wear this for a couple of weeks and get back to you on how it works in the long term. So what do you think - Gimmick or glamour gadget?

NOTD: GOSH "Flamingo"

I slapped this on while I was making Sunday roast chicken dinner. I thought, why not use the base and top coat from GOSH I got the other day as well? It goes on smooth and glossy, this is 2 coats over GOSH Fix Base coat and topped with GOSH Top Coat. Drying time is great for products that are not meant to be fast drying, it was touch dry to faff about with cooking the chicken in 20 mins! I love the colour of "Flamingo", beautiful bright pink that is a touch warmer and less lilac-y than shown here; still trying to find a place in my new house that is good for NOTD pics...

OK, so I got polish, but I am laying laminate flooring....

Guys, seriously, having your own home is great - but bad for your nails! Why? Well...

Regular readers will know my passion for Danish brand GOSH and Australian brand Bloom. I got picked up on this by a nice lady called Jenny who happens to work at Z-PR, who's client is Superdrug. She said she wanted to send me some samples, so I said OK (c'mon, what else???). When it finally arrived in not so good nick (thank you Royal Mail...) there was 10 GOSH polishes, 3 Bloom polishes (including "Bianca"!!) and a lovely Eau de Gloss by Bourjois! Thank you Jenny, I am not sure which one to put on first, but I think Monday will see either Bloom "Nicole" or GOSH "Avantgarde" for definite, for my first day at my new job :)

So I am sitting on 13 new polishes, and my nails are still bare as white spirit paintbrush cleaner, peeling wallpaper and laying laminate flooring doesn't go well with nail polish! However, bedroom is almost finished (plaster has to dry so I can paint the walls now...) so after that I will be back to having a desk to sit at! :)

And peeps, I've got a cool review coming up tomorrow, the all-new L'oreal Roll-On Foundation. So stay tuned!

NOTD: Collection 2000 Hot Looks "Button Moon"

It's hard to try and find a new place to photograph my NOTDs. I will have to explore my options as my house progressively gets decorated! :)

So apologies for the poor photo quality of this lovely colour. It is a dupe to Barry M "Mint Green". It has some application issues like the other colours from the 80s inspired Hot Looks collection - stringy and almost a bit, eh, elastic?.. But I still love the whole collection! I think "Big Hair" is my fave so far :)

This is 2 coats over Sally Hansen Diamond Strength base coat and Sally Hansen Megashine top coat. Love it! Even got a matching pedi and mani today :)

NOTDs During My Absence

Top to bottom: Rimmel Posh Trash; Rimmel Movie Star; Rimmel Zeitgeist and today it's Chelsea Kiwi Sparkle!

Hello all! I am back, and after several weeks, I thought I'd show you my recent NOTDs all in one post! You'd be forgiven asking why so few, but it's simply cause I've been redecorating so haven't been wearing nail polish! Excuse the unwitting Rimmel extravaganza, I just really love all my Rimmels! Especially "Zeitgeist" it's the dark goddess of duo-chrome shifting shamelessly between puple and green! :)

Excluded is L'Oreal Jet-Set 752, I forgot to take pics of it while I was wearing it and it was already scubby when I remembered! I will wear it again to show it for you all, it's a lovely orangey sparkle!

I'M BACK!!!

Finally moved into my new house AND while I was away I got a new job which I start in just over a weeks time! :)

Anyone miss me?I missed blogging anyway, and chatting on MUA. But I am finally back and over the weekend I will be posting the past few weeks NOTDs and some reviews! :)
