NOTD: New York Color "Spring Street"

Finally managed to do my nails for the first time in over a week! Please excuse the dark streaks - Nubar Nu Nail is not a good base coat, it creates streaks in ALL polishes I've ever worn over it. However, as I am cat sitting at the moment and it's all I've got, it will have to do! :)

This is 2 coats of "Spring Street", a nice reddish orange from bargainstastic brand NYC. I slapped on some MegaShine and got some free micro-glitter particles from last time it was used... Oh well :)

I sat outside knitting for some of the afternoon enjoying a rare day of sunshine and hot weather. I also did loads of sewing today as well so I've got a sore back, so I am off to have a nice sooting bubblebath. The cat is in a huff with me however as I wouldn't let her jump up in my lap while I was sewing, so best give her some of that crunch cat food before I go off! See ya soon!

Random stuff!

So I am still busy, and I promise I WILL get a nice NOTD for you tomorrow! I'm thinking a new orange I have acquired... :)

Anyways to keep you entertained meanwhile, this is one of the funky little friends I found today while out bug hunting! Rana temporaria, common frog! This one hasn't fully metamorphosed yet and still has a tail, very cute!

Quickies Nail Vanish Remover Pads

Hey kidz, I've been rather busy lately but thought I'd pop in to tell you about a rediscovery while I played around with the new Template Designer on Blogger!

I am house/cat sitting at my in-laws until next Tuesday so I have a little tub of Quickies nail polish remover wipes for removing my Nubar Nu Nail nail strengthener and I realised why I always used to use these! They smell strongly of naff 80s perfume, but they remove even several layers of glitter (I dabbled with cool-in-bottle-but-crap-on-nail Revlon "Banana Blaze" yellow glitter on one of my nails). They feel slightly greasy as they are very moisturising. These are ideal in your holiday bag / handbag for on the move nail polish removing as they are moist but not drippy-droppy! :) I used to only use these instead of cotton and remover, and I may just need to go back to these. permanently..

Quickies come in a tub of 20 wipes, I usually use 2 for all ten nails. You can get these for £1.79 a tub in Superdrug and sometimes they do the miniature version of them (also come in a pack of 20 wipes), which are even more ideal for your handbag!

Minx "Minxlusion"

Hey kidz, I am struggling with time management / too many tasks at the moment so I haven't been putting nail polish on since Friday when I took off the Hello Kitty polish from H&M. So much to do, so little time! With two weeks til the reconstruction of our house is finished, there is a lot to do!

But I had to show you my latest Minx - it looks a bit like the "Silver Lightning" until you turn it sideways when it lights up with a rainbow effect. Absolutely amazing! I have an upcoming wedding for one of my friends and this will definitely be my pedicure for that!!! :)

NOTD: H&M Hello Kitty "Sweet Summer"

Wow how popular was my Claires "Magic" NOTD? :) Unfortunately this is now HTF and being a US release, it is near impossible to find a bottle. I got one in a swap with a very pleasant American lady! :)

Anyway. I was in H&M yesterday and came across this Hello Kitty polish! I had to have it. They also had a purple with silver glitter, which of course I also picked up... How cute is this polish??

This is a pink jelly, this is 3 coats with a slick of MegaShine. Amazingly juicy and glossy! :)

NOTD: Claires "Magic"

OMG. Sometimes you just get a nail polish that is so perfect you wanna cry. This is one of those! That naughty purple with a wink of sexy, hot pink is to die for! And the formula on this is perfect, smooth, quick drying and opaque in 2 coats. I love "Magic"!

NOTD: Claires "Chunky Glitter Silver"

Hey ho onto my second post for tonight! Just been so busy this weekend clearing paper work in relation to the house hadn't had time to post my tinted moisturiser review...

Here is one of the two Chunky Glitters I own thanks to a lovely American lady who swapped so kindly with me! The other one is the green one. Oh how I coveted these when I first saw them on Scrangie's blog! I kind of knew that they were going to be sheer so I layered this one over Rimmel I Love.. "Your Majesty" which is a silver metallic and glad I did so. I'm not patient enough for 4 coats or so... This is 1 coat "Your Majesty" with 2 coats of "Chunky Glitter Silver". And of course, a slap of Megashine as I wasn't in the mood to wait longer than an episode of "The Vampire Diaries" to get some icecream...

The Chunkies are mega glittery with large hexagonal discs that are like little super-polished mirrors! Completely bling-tastic! 8-D

I know this will be a complete b***h to remove, but man, I adore glitters...

Review: POP Beauty No Show Correct & Protect SPF30 Tinted Moisturiser

Since I was 14 or so til my early 20s I religiously wore tinted moisturiser, various kinds. But as I got, ahem, older, it gave way to foundation as it was the only thing to cover my sins... Then a few weeks ago, I re-discovered tinted moisturiser. It started with the new Topshop Skin Tint. Moved on from there (it was a bit too heavy), to Boots No7 Dual Protection (not enough colour), to Makebelieve Enhance Glow (too shimmery).

Then I saw POP Beauty No Show Correct & Protect in a magazine, and the promise of invisible but visible coverage, high SPF, oil free with a refreshing gel texture just sounded irresistible. I immediately ordered myself a tube.

I am sold. It's covers invisibly and feels really great on. It kind of mattifies your skin slightly, and on me it wears all day! I chose the shade "No. 1 Neutralize" as it is for "minimize red and blue undertones, to brighten complexion, and to give it a touch of warmth". And it certainly does that on me!

No Show Protect & Correct retails for £16, you can buy it online from POP Beauty's website.

NOTD: Depend 201

Just a quick NOTD for you today - I am busy enjoying the first new episodes of "American Dad" Season 5! This is the lovely Depend no 201. A nice opaque warm flamingo pink that will do for looking at bathroom tiles for my flat tomorrow! :) This is 2 coats with MegaShine.

NOTD: Nails Inc "Aspen" and some other stuff!

Today I've got an old fave of mine on - the naughty red shimmer "Aspen" from Nails Inc. I am on my second bottle of this Holy Grail of red nail polishes! The photo here doesn't do this glowy, showy, sexy polish justice. With the butter-smooth Nails Inc formula this is a Top Ten of All Time nail polish for me! This is 2 coats with a slick of MegaShine.

Also I have fallen in love with Lola by Marc Jacobs. I finally had so many Boots Reward Card points, I got myself a bottle after spraying this lovely mist on myself for ages during meanders at lunch time... Look at that curvaceous bottle! I am not a perfume connoiseur so I won't pretend I know how to describe this scent, but I loooooove Lola! :)

And finally a huge thank you to everyone who has commented recently, I love reading your comments and I am sorry I rarely have something witty or wise to reply with!! :)

As a distraction from the football World Cup starting tomorrow, I've gone for a full beauty overhaul so I've got some reviews coming up later this week, including faux tan, tinted moisturisers comparison and some new Minx products, so stick around! :)

See ya soon, lovies!

NOTD: Depend 193 + 195

I saw these and loved them in the bottle, but was dubious on how smoothly they would go on. But I was surprised! Amazingly brush-stroke free application, opaque in 2 thin coats and a lovely metallic lustre. I love Depend nail polishes, wish they were sold in Britain! I get mine from my dearest Mum! Thank you mum! :) This is 195 (blue) with 193 (pink).

I suppose I should have gone for a gold and blue manicure as it is the Swedish National Day today, but I honestly didn't remember! I went bowling today (atrocious scores!) and broke a nail so I needed something to cheer me up and this was definitly it! :)

NOTD: Misa "Speed of life" with Topshop Matte Top Coat

I've been really ill with some kind of stomach bug during the week but finally recovering! I wanted something bright and matte but I couldn't find what I wanted in my stash without reaching for OPI "La Paz-itively Hot Matte"... So I went for Misa "Speed of life" with a slick of Topshop Matte top coat. Not my most fantastic NOTD yet, but it'll do for tomorrow! Now for trying to find something clothes-wise to go with it... :)
